Jim started playing drums at the age of 11, originally as therapy after being injured in a car accident. He soon found out that he enjoyed playing and continued. He took lessons at Schmitt Music then Music Tech Minneapolis for a short time, then just learned on his own.
He played with a few bands that didn’t really play out much, starting with a band called Forebitten followed by a number of years in Severed Garden. He most recently spent 15 years in a band called Bluestone that had several member changes over the years, but when the last singer left Jim decided that he needed to get into something more stable. He reached out to Fatal Kaliber and in the summer of 2018 he officially joined.
Jim lives in Maple Plain with his fiancé Lorrie and works as a chef in a corporate café. He enjoys golfing, fishing and spending time outdoors.
